Robert Strachan (born 1987 in London) is a game designer based in the UK. He began his formal academic study of Games & Games Design in 2006 when he enrolled in the BA: Computer Games design course at The University of Wales: Newport School of Art and Design.
The course at Newport placed a strong emphasis on contemporary design, through developing a fundamental understanding of traditional design principles and production practices across a broad range of media. It was here that he developed a strong foundational range of skills and experience in Game Development, form initial Concept Development, Design Documentation, Concept Art (character and environment), 3D modelling, Level Design, Scripting & Programming to Team Management.
Since completing his undergraduate in 2009 he has continued his education in games design at Brunel, enrolling in the MA: Digital Games: Theory and Design course in 2011, which he will be graduating from in September 2012.
Currently he his preparing his MA thesis, while applying for available Games Design work and is also making arrangements to begin a PhD in the field of Games Design to take his academic comprehension of games even further.
